One of the surprises of the year finally arrives at the Spanish billboard, Les garçons et Guillaume, à table! The acclaimed debut of Guillaume Gallienne, the filmmaker sensation of the last Cannes Festival, is released in our cinemas on the 28th of February. With memorable scenes like the dancing of the Sevillians, the film presents with fun anecdotes the constant search of an actor to find his own identity, even his sexuality. A hilarious and ingenious autobiography that shows the special relationship between the artist and his mother, for whom he has great respect.

The challenge that was faced by Guillaume Gallienne, a renowned actor of the Comédie-Française (the most ancient and prestigious theatre group in France) with his first film was not easy. On one hand, it was released on the big screen with a very personal autobiographic film (which he himself wrote, directed  and starred in, playing himself and his mother). And on the other hand, he had to adapt to the cinema a play (always a difficult task) in which he had acted with success in Paris some years ago.

Les garçons et Guillaume, à table! has already won a series of awards that guarantee the quality of the first work of this artist. During the last Cannes Festival the film won fifteen long minutes of applause after its presentation, to finally win in the Directors’ Fortnight the prizes of Art Cinema Award and the Best Film Prize from SACD (Association of French Authors). The film has also won the Valois d’Or for the Best Film and the Public Prize in the last Angoulême Festival. Besides, it has been nominated in 10 categories for the César Prizes (still to be held at the end of our edition). An artist with a promising career ahead as a filmmaker.
