The gallery Slowtrack (in the street Cañizares, 12) introduces Amalgama, the latest exhibition of ElTono in Madrid, the city where, with the rest of the members of Noviciado9, he defined his current artistic style.

ElTono paints iconic post-graffiti in which he exploits his particular logo, a diapason, using techniques closely related to advertising. He usually adjusts this symbol to the space in which it is shown. These tend to be places distinguished by their textures, which is the reason why ElTono considers that “he does not paint on a basis, but with it”. As the artist emphasizes, the creative process depends basically on external factors like chance or the direct influence of the surroundings. Moreover, he makes his particular technique stand out with masking tape and brushes, in contrast to the common aerosol of the urban artist.

The exhibition of ElTono in Slowtrack will share space with the one of Akané Watanabé, Trials, until the 26th of May, apart from the usual cinema and music activities that will take place in the gallery.
