The transgressive festival returns to Barcelona

If you love design and you don’t want to miss out, get your diary out and highlight the 15th, 16th and 17th of May whichever way you prefer: smoke signals, geometric shapes… (you are the artist and it´s your schedule). The aim is that you remember that OFFF, The International Festival of Arts & Design (where Joshua Davis injured his leg in a break dance performance) returns to Spain for the second consecutive year.

Barcelona, the city that saw the festival´s birth in 2000, will become once again the showcase for the latest trends and cutting-edge styles in terms of post-digital creation, film and television, design, advertising and editorial art. For sure, don’t put off getting your ticket or you will not get through the gates of DHUB.

The festival will have the usual seven areas/spaces. The conference will be celebrated in the Roots Room. The place for networking and art sale will be the Market.  Exhibitions and performances will take place in the Showplace. New talents will continue with their space in the Openroom. Participants can take part in workshops in the Workshops area or visit the Cinexin room where motion graphics, short films, documentaries, etc, will be projected. There will also be a chill-out area, the Chillax.

The program includes more than 70 conferences by artists like the master of typography, Erik Spiekermann, and Seb Lester, creator of the Soho Gothic font, who will also offer a workshop. The ManvsMachine Studio will participate (they are specialists  in creating and managing brands for television), as will the designer Pomme Chan (known for her typographic illustrations inspired by nature) and Kate Moross (the director of Studio Moross, who has worked for brands such as Converse, Adidas, Google and NOKIA).

Hector Ayuso, OFFF founder, has revealed that he will publish a new issue of the magazine Poool and has named the new creators of the Main Title, the highlight of the festival where the participating artists are presented in audiovisual closing credits:  Ash Thorp and Anthony Scott Burns. The name of the big surprise guest remains a secret.

To whet your appetite, we leave you with a promotional video Bam! OFFF 2014 Teaser!, developed by Lorem Ipsum, a group of students from Atelier, under the supervision of the great director Alessandro Novelli, and creator of The Alphabet 2.
