The musician Stuart Murdoch, leader of Belle & Sebastian –considered by the critics the best Scottish band of the past 15 years-, successfully debuts in directing this musical with songs composed by himself in 2003 which did not fit for his band at that time. In 2009, he compiled those songs under the name of God help the girl, which was very well received by his fans and the specialized press.

Fulfilling his dream of making a film, the composer and singer presents us this movie that, taking the tittle from the album, will delight the lovers of indie music and folk pop. A new opportunity to discover the band which is a point of reference within the musical scene and which has many loyal fans in our country thanks to festivals like FIB or the Primavera Sound.

It is worth noting that the excellent trio performing in the film won the Special Jury Award for Ensemble Performance in Sundance festival. Here we find a brilliant Emily Browning (Sleeping Beauty) performing as young Eve, who thanks to music is able to overcome the emotional challenges she is facing. She creates God help the girl band together with James –played by actor Olly Alexander (Le Week-End)- and Cassie –Hannah Murray (Game of Thrones).
