Macarons are old news, now. Cupcakes have been and gone. It’s time for a new dawn in delicious sweets, and Melbourne’s Raph Rashid, the genius behind Beatbox Kitchen and the Taco Truck is stepping up to the challenge with his new venture, All Day Donuts.

Located in a nondescript brick building off Sydney Rd in Brunswick, the door is simply marked with a typed sign with directions for deliveries, and a little donut with the word “OPEN.” They’re keeping things simple, with only six types of donuts available, as well as filtered coffee sitting at the counter waiting to be poured.

The donuts themselves are fantastic – the dough is very light and airy, and the glazes are full of flavour. There are a few filled donuts available, as well as the regular glazed ones; the strawberry cheesecake donut was incredible, full of smooth, creamy, cheesecake-like filling.

All Day Donuts are already gathering a huge following, with the store only open three days a week (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) from 8:00am to 3:00pm or until sold out. There’s also been suggestion of opening again later in the day for a fried chicken dinner service, which we’re anxiously awaiting more news on. Until then, we’ll just keep coming back for more and more donuts; they’re certainly going to set some high standard for what’s to come!
