Among all the music festivals, if one would be awarded for its ability to seduce people only with its name, it should be Electrosnow… Especially because it’s not just a name picked to sound “cool” – it is exactly what the festival offers: electronic music by world-class DJs, snow, skiing / snowboarding, lots of fun, and maybe some sun as well…
In its second year, this young yet already successful festival will be held on March 28th and 29th, 2014. The skiing-by-day, partying-by-night event will once again take place at the prime ski slopes of Grandvalira, in the tiny nation of Andorra that is sandwiched between Spain and France. Located in the Pyrenees mountain range at a high altitude, it is one of the few locations that one can count on having snow at the end of March in Europe, without having to climb the highest mountains away from civilization, or heading up to northern Scandinavia.
While the “snow” portion of the event comes naturally due to its locale, it is the “electro” part that is deliberately organized to make Electrosnow the snow-enhanced, unique festival that it is. A 2-3 day snowy adventure with high quality electronic music…
After skiing and/or snowboarding the first day, and ending up with sore muscles (unless you’re a pro), you will have a great excuse to never have to slide down the slopes again, should you choose so – almost non-stop music will be waiting for everyone… Both nights two different stages, the main stage and another outdoor stage by Red Bull Music Academy will keep you dancing, and alleviating the muscle soreness. And on the 29th, there will also be a daytime stage, located at the top of the slopes, aptly named the Altitude Stage.
As for what you will be listening to, from which artists, this year’s lineup includes accomplished, world-famous DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos (CL), Simian Mobile Disco (GB), Max Cooper (IE), Rone (FR), Sonja Moonear (CH), Objekt (GB), Kristal Klear (GB), Headbirds (ES), as well as talented musicians from Red Bull Music Academy, to name a few…

Photos from Electrosnow 2013 give some idea as to why last year’s festival has been such a big success, despite being its very first edition. But to really understand why, a better idea would be to pack light, and head up to where the action is. Plus, you never know when will be the next time you will get to see snow again…
